Ghosts! About me and my views of the paranormal.

About Me

For most of my life, I never thought much about the possible existence of ghosts, or anything paranormal. I wouldn't say I was a skeptic; it's just that I didn't even think about it. I played with an Ouija board as a child and a couple of times as an adult at parties, but I never really believed you could communicate with the dead, or anybody else with it, and I still don't. If the oracle, or as it is also called, the planchette, moved on its own, without being touched, then perhaps I would be more likely to believe. But because it has to be touched with the fingertips, I think it's nothing more than someone, either intentionally or subconsciously moving it.

I have also watched scary movies like Poltergeist, The Exorcist and others, but to me they are nothing than that, movies. They did not scare me nor did they change my attitude or beliefs one way or another when it comes to the paranormal or the possible existence of ghosts. To me they were nothing more than entertainment.

I have no particular religious convictions, although I am not an atheist. I do believe that some force, I guess you could call it God created our universe. But what that force is exactly, I don't know, and personally I don't think anyone else does either.

The reason I became an open minded skeptic when it comes to the paranormal and to ghosts and hauntings in particular was because of some personal experiences that I, have had in my own home, experiences that I cannot explain, experiences that some would consider paranormal. I'm not going to go into them on this page because I have already mentioned them on the home page of this website. But I also remain somewhat skeptical in my beliefs simply because, I do know the human mind can play tricks on us. Especially if you have any sort of mental illness or take illicit drugs, and even prescription medications can influence your thought processes. And I do take various prescription medications; after all I am on the older side of the baby boom generation. But the reason I do take the events that have happened to me a little more serious is because they were also experienced by others.

My purpose

If you've clicked on this page then you're probably interested or at least a little curious as to why I believe the way I do, and why I spent the time, energy and money to create this website. The purpose of this website is not to try and change anyone's mind. I'm not going to try and convince the hard core skeptics that ghosts or any other paranormal phenomena is real, and at the same time I am not going and to try and convince the true believers that ghosts and these other things are not real. I can only hope that some of these skeptics will open their minds, even if by just a little bit, as to the possibility that there are some things, that is beyond the scope of normal human understanding and perhaps do exist. But, at the same time, I hope that some of the believers will view such things as ghosts, psychics, mediums and other things of that nature with just a little bit more of a critical eye, and not become victims of unscrupulous, phony psychics and mediums. And hopefully by doing this, I'll help close the gap, even if by just a little bit between the skeptics and believers.

I don't know if ghosts or any other paranormal phenomenon is real or not. Perhaps it is all within our own minds and imaginations, but there is also the possibility that there is some reality beyond ours, and ghosts do exist and reside in another realm of existence. Or perhaps ghosts even exist within our realm of reality but perhaps on a much more subtle level. If it is true that ghosts, spirits or souls do transcend death and continue to exist, then I also believe that there has to be some way of proving this in a scientific manner, proving it in a manner that would convince even the most ardent skeptics. But there will always be some who are so closed minded, that they wouldn't believe in ghosts or the paranormal no matter what that proof may be. Simply because they don't want to believe and even if they had seen it with their own two eyes they would still be reluctant to give up the comfort of their skepticism.

I do wish to thank each and every person who has visited this site. I don't expect everyone who has visited to agree with me. Some will think I'm too much of a believer and others will think I'm too skeptical. But we all must make up our own minds as to whether we believe in the paranormal or not. Perhaps someday there will be verifiable proof that ghosts are real and do exist, or it is also possible that someone, someday will be able to prove that it really is all within our imaginations. But until that day comes I sincerely hope that everyone, skeptics and believers will maintain an open and curious mind and respect the beliefs of others.

I am not a scientist, nor am I a paranormal investigator. I have no specialized education or training in psychology, psychiatry or parapsychology and all the information contained within this website is based solely upon my own personal views, opinions and experiences. If you feel you are being haunted or tormented in any way, by any malevolent entities, demons, ghosts or other beings, please do the prudent thing and contact the people who may be able to help, just to be on the safe side. If you are experiencing what you believe to be paranormal activity, and if it is any way bothersome, talk to your doctors, psychiatrist or psychologist. Your clergy may also be of some help if you truly believe the activity to be demonic. And it may even be beneficial or advisable, to contact a reputable paranormal research group, I am not going to make any recommendations because I am not familiar with any particular group, but I do have many groups listed on my links' pages who may be able to get you in contact with one near your home. But a word of caution, before you let anyone into your home or place of business, I would suggest that you do a little research into their background and reputation, and also into the backgrounds of all the people who will be entering your home or place of business. Most reputable paranormal research teams or groups will do an investigation without charge. Mabt of them will do an investigation for research purposes and because of a sincere desire to help others.
